Psychotherapy, Counseling & Coaching in California

Your Financial Investment in Well-Being & Future Status

When you engage with any of my services—whether it is online psychotherapy/counseling, professional creative coaching, or immigration psychological evaluation—you are making a powerful investment in your future. Like any good investment, they will return manyfold in improved mental health, achievement of personal goals, or a stronger immigration status. Here is the information about your financial investment.

Rates and Insurance for Online Therapy and Counseling
in California

I provide secure, convenient telehealth services (online therapy). While you do not have to be a permanent resident of California, you must be physically located within the state of California at the time of your session.

  • 50-Minute Individual Online Therapy Session: $250
  • 30-Minute Check-in Session: $150
  • 90-Minute Extended Session: $450
  • Pre-Paid Session Discount: If you pay for 7 sessions in advance, the 8th session of the same length is free of charge.

Availability for Reduced Fees (Sliding Scale)

I am committed to making mental health support accessible. I offer a limited number of reduced-fee slots for clients experiencing financial hardship who are paying out-of-pocket (self-pay) and not using insurance.

  • These slots are based on documented income and current availability.
  • The reduced rate is reserved for those in short-term financial distress and is agreed upon for a definite number of sessions, after which we will transition to the full standard rate or explore external resources.
  • If you are interested in a reduced-fee slot, please mention this when you contact me. If my reduced-fee slots are full, I can provide referrals to local low-cost clinics and community resources.

Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for Self-Pay Clients

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care will cost.

  • Estimate Provision: I will provide you with a GFE in writing at least one business day before your scheduled medical service (therapy/counseling).
  • Crucial Timing: To ensure you are fully informed before any financial commitment, you will receive your GFE prior to the start of the 48-hour cancellation window for your first scheduled session.
  • Requesting the GFE: You can also ask me for a GFE before you schedule a service.

Insurance Accepted

I am an in-network provider for:

  • Kaiser Permanente Northern California
  • I also accept direct payment/authorization from:
  • California Victims Compensation Board (CalVCB)
  • To begin: Please contact me first for an appointment inquiry to discuss if we are a good fit.
  • For Kaiser: You will need to contact Kaiser for prior authorization. Provide them with my name and NPI number: 1053782789.
  • For CalVCB (Direct Payment): Once you have an authorization number from CalVCB, you may contact me to schedule. I will use this number to set up direct billing with them. You are never responsible for a copay with CalVCB.
  • Online Copay Waiver: Kaiser Permanente typically waives your copay (if you have one) when services are delivered via telehealth.

High Deductible Plans: If you have a high deductible plan (e.g., Kaiser Bronze Plan), you are responsible for paying my contracted fee directly to me until you meet your annual deductible. Please clarify your coverage and deductible status with Kaiser Member Services before our first appointment to avoid surprise bills. I do not have access to your private insurance details.

Out-of-Network Benefits (Superbill)

I can provide you with a “superbill” (an itemized receipt) which is useful if you have out-of-network mental health benefits through a different insurance company. This allows you to submit the bill to your insurance for potential reimbursement, usually up to a certain percentage of the fee.

Disclaimer: You are responsible for the full fee at the time of service, regardless of whether your insurance reimburses you. Please confirm your specific out-of-network benefits and coverage with your insurance provider beforehand, as fees are non-refundable once services are rendered.

Understanding Medical Necessity and Your Records

Please note that for an insurance company (Kaiser or out-of-network) to reimburse for my services, you must meet the criteria for medical necessity. This requires: a formal diagnosis, engaging in evidence-based treatment (primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – CBT), and creating documentation (treatment plan, progress notes). The insurance company will have full access to these records for quality review. I maintain all health records using a HIPAA-compliant Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure the security of your data.

Privacy Note: If you prefer that your mental health records remain entirely private and not accessible by any third-party payers, please consider the self-pay option.

Immigration Psychological Evaluation: Fees and Procedures

This is a flat-fee service designed to provide a comprehensive, professional, and clinically-sound psychological evaluation for presentation to an attorney or immigration judge.

Full Fee: $1,400

The Evaluation Process

  1. Initial Assessment & Clinical Interview: I spend 1-3 hours with you to conduct a thorough assessment of the emotional complexities of your case, focusing on the severity of emotional distress and functional impairment.
  2. Report Writing: I will write a multi-page, professional assessment using a proven document template to clearly and professionally present your situation. My expertise is in quantifying the emotional suffering and the impact of the hardship on daily functioning for the court.
  3. Draft Approval & Precision: I will provide the draft for your review, approval, and fine-tuning for precision. Your recollection often improves after a thorough assessment, and you will have a chance to add more details.
  4. Clinical Justification Check: If, after the assessment, I determine that the level of functional impairment or emotional distress is negligible and would be challenging to effectively justify to the court, I will inform you immediately. You will then have the option to proceed with the full evaluation or discontinue the psychological assessment report.

Payment Schedule

First Half ($700): Due at the start of the assessment process.

  • Second Half ($700): Due once you decide that the final assessment report has met your needs and is ready for submission.
  • If you choose to discontinue the psychological assessment report before the final report is written, you will only be charged for the hours we spent together at a rate of $250 per hour (the hourly therapy rate).

In-Person vs. Online Availability

As my primary practice is online, there are different availability rules for in-person meetings based on the service type:

ServiceAvailabilityDetails
Therapy/CounselingOnline OnlySessions are strictly conducted online via secure telehealth. I do not maintain a physical office for therapy clients at this time.
Creative CoachingOnline & In-PersonWhile the majority of sessions are held online (worldwide), local clients near Citrus Heights, CA may arrange for in-person sessions by mutual agreement.
Immigration EvaluationOnline & In-PersonAssessments are primarily conducted online. However, I am available to conduct interviews and assessments at your attorney's office if the location is within a reasonable distance of the greater Sacramento area.

Payment Methods and Security

I strive to make the payment process seamless and secure. Payment is due at the time of service.

Primary Method (Recommended for Security and Ease): IVY PAY

We use Ivy Pay, a payment system designed exclusively for licensed therapists. It is fully HIPAA-compliant and allows you to securely store a card on file.

How it Works: After our first session, I send a secure payment request via text message. You enter your card information once, and future charges are handled with a simple tap. You receive a payment receipt immediately via text.

Accepted Card Types via Ivy Pay:

  • All Major Credit Cards
  • Debit cards
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) Cards
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Cards

Alternate Methods:

  • Cash: Accepted only for pre-arranged in-person coaching sessions.
  • Check: Checks are accepted, provided they are received and cleared prior to the scheduled session time.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy

My cancellation window is 48 hours for any appointment (therapy, coaching, or evaluation time).

  • Late Cancellation (within 48 hours): You will be charged the full hourly rate.
  • For Pre-paid Packages: A late cancellation means you forfeit that session/hour.

Rescheduling & Missed Appointments

  • If you cancel earlier than 48 hours, I am happy to reschedule up to 2 times for the same appointment slot.
  • For the 3rd cancellation of the same appointment, you have forfeited that appointment, and the fee is non-refundable.

Refund for Prepaid Packages

Any refund issued for prepaid coaching or therapy packages will contain a 5% administration cost.
